How does the EECA subsidy work?
You pay in full, then get $4,999 back on a digital Visa card once Orion approves the install. Loyalty Collective, the pilot fund manager, sends it. Nothing to claim.
Am I eligible?
If you live in Halswell, there is a good chance. Households, businesses and community organisations can all take part, with or without solar. Start with your address and we will confirm.
What’s the benefit of the pilot beyond the subsidy?
Your battery helps you use cheaper electricity and avoid expensive peak times, which can lower your power bill while easing pressure on the local network. Orion and EECA use anonymised usage data and participant feedback from the pilot to help build a more efficient, reliable electricity system.
Do I need solar?
No. The AE-1 buys low and sells high whether you have solar or not. If you do, it will charge from your free excess solar.
