Built in New Zealand, for New Zealand
We’ve built the entire Aotea technology stack in-house — from hardware to software — and assemble our systems here in New Zealand. We believe this is good for the country: it strengthens energy security, creates local capability, and gives us full control over the quality and resilience of our product.

Our Vision
We believe batteries will transform energy in the same way the internet transformed information — from something centralised and inflexible, to something dynamic, decentralised, and in everyone’s hands.
At the community level, they allow clusters of homes, businesses, and schools to share energy, reduce peak demand, and make better use of local generation. At the national level, a network of smart batteries reduce the need of costly grid upgrades, absorbs more renewable generation, and gives New Zealand true energy sovereignty.
The Mark 1 Smart Battery is our first step. But it's just the beginning of broader movement: a battery in every home, storage at every level, and an electrified New Zealand that is more affordable, more resilient, and more independent.
